Undergraduate Curriculum and Courses

The Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs manages all course and curriculum development for undergraduates. Faculty interested in proposing new degree programs, revising current programs, and creating new courses are directed to review the Course and Curriculum Guidelines and Forms and seek assistance as needed from vpue@buffalo.edu.

Approvals of New Degree Programs, Curriculum Revisions, and New Courses for the last three years may be reviewed.

VPUE Groups and Committees

The Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs coordinates several standing groups to further the goals and mission of undergraduate education:

• Associate Dean’s Council: This group includes the chief academic officers for each decanal unit as well as Millard Fillmore College and International Education. Monthly meetings are convened to consider and approve undergraduate curricular proposals and to advise the Senior Vice Provost on academic initiatives and matters of concern to undergraduate education.
• Town Meeting Group: Gathered periodically to consider current issues regarding undergraduate academic services and advise the Senior Vice Provost, this group is open to all personnel who serve in academic, career, or financial advising; domestic or international admissions; student affairs; or any other academic area.
• Directors of Undergraduate Studies: Gathered periodically to consider current issues regarding undergraduate academic services and advise the Senior Vice Provost, this group is open to all the designated Directors of Undergraduate Studies in each department or decanal unit.
